Converting Capabilities
Tape converting is a process where through rewinding, laminating, slitting, printing and diecutting the adhesive in either log or roll forms, the input tape roll or sheet is transformed into usable items.
Stokvis Tapes is offering a wide range of converting solutions to existing and future customers in order to fulfill all needs in the most optimal way.
Regarding to customer needs the following processes are available wordwide (for specific limitations please contact your local Stokvis Tapes partner):
Laminating:
Different type of products are put together by hot or cold lamination. This way adhesvie can be added to foam, mesh or film for example.
General limitations:
- maximum width: 1600mm
- unwinding raw material diamater: max. 800mm (400mm for adhesives)
- tolerance in length: ±20cm
Slitting:
Logs (wide rolls) can be converted into narrow ones according to customer’s request by slitting them to size with blade or sawblade.
General limitations:
- maximum width: 1600 mm
- maximum outer diameter: 400 mm
- tolerance: ±0,5mm
Rewinding:
Big ’Jumbo’ logs can be converted into smaller diameter ones by rewinding them.
General limitations:
- maximum log width: 1600mm
- unwinding raw material diamater: max. 800mm (400mm for adhesives)
- tolerance in length: ±20cm
Laser plotter:
Small quantity orders, samples or test parts can be produced with no extra tool cost. Cutting is done by laser beam.
General limintations:
- maximum size: 910mm x 410mm
- molerance: ±0,1mm
- material thickness: 30mm
- material type: no heat resistant materials
Cut-out plotter:
Also applicable for small quanity production, only difference is that the cut is done by knife.
General limitations:
- maximum width: 650mm
- maximum length: 1200mm
- material thickness: 1.2mm
- tolerance: ±0,2mm
- material type: preferably not too soft materials
Flat bed machine/converting press:
Different types of sheets are possible to be converted into products by flat bed/converting press.
General limitations:
- maximum width: 345mm
- maximum lenght: 200mm
- material thickness: 15mm
- tolerance: ±0.1-0.3mm
Rotary die cutting:
Rotary die cutting is the most common way of tape converting, where different kinds of adhesive rolls, foams are turned into many different types of products.
General limitations:
- maximum width: 170-500mm
- material thickness: 2mm
- tolerance: ±0.05-0.4mm
